December is here! That means holidays like Hanukkah (Dec. 18-26), Christmas (Dec. 25), and Kwanzaa (Dec. 26-Jan. 1), along with the first day of winter and New Year's Eve are on the way ... but there's so much more happening this month!

We might just be hungry today, but we decided it was a great time to recognize five of the foodie holidays celebrated in December. Hungry? Let's eat!

3. Cupcake Day

If you like to bake, this could make a very enjoyable family activity with the kids. If not, head to the grocery store and pick up a treat with icing on top! Dec. 15

4. Maple Syrup Day

I mean, do you actually need an excuse to take the kids out for pancakes? If so, this is it! Make or buy a stack of your favorite breakfast pancakes. Then drench those pancakes in maple syrup and enjoy. Dec. 17

5. Hamburger Day

Is there anything better than a nice, juicy hamburger? We certainly don't think so! National Hamburger Day is the perfect reason to take off from a night of cooking and treat the family to dinner out at Flat Tire Bar & Grill, Richards Restaurant, Imperial Lounge, or any number of local fast food chains. Yum. Never mind that are more than a few Hamburger Days throughout the year ... we choose to celebrate them all! Dec. 21
