This week, I packed my bags and headed off to St. Pete Beach, Florida for a little rest and relaxation. I don't get that much vacation time so I'm going to soak up the sun and enjoy some time off. Yay! I just wanted to share my minimalist beach vacation packing list!
Must-Have Items for Beach Vacation
On trips like this, I need to pack light and only bring the essentials: bathing suit and sunscreen (plus a few extras)! If you're traveling by car, taking kids or more family members, you might need to bring an extra suitcase or checked baggage. But for this trip I have decided to try a "less is more" approach to enjoy the trip as much as possible.

- Sunglasses
- Bathing Suit
- Cover up or rash guard with SPF
- Sandals or flip flops
- Tank tops / shorts
- Sundress
- Beach Hat
- Underwear
- Pajamas
- Refillable water bottle
Travel / Personal Items
Some of these items are so obvious, but sometimes that's the easiest things to forget!
- Passport and/or Drivers License
- Booking Confirmation / Travel Itinerary
- Cell Phone and Charger
- Small Wallet with Cards and Cash
- Toiletries and Medications
- Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Hairbrush
- Sunscreen (travel size)
- Razor and Soap
- Headphones
- Camera, case, batteries
- Pen and notebook
The week before my trip, I start to collect items and set them in a pile near my suitcase so I don't forget anything important. Some items I use every day, but my passport and extra pair of shoes can wait in the bag until I'm ready to go. Also, there are a few items that would be nice to have (beach towel, book, shampoo, etc.) but the hotel will provide them, or I can pick it up locally rather than bring them on the trip.
