Books: Elbert County Public Library is a part of the statewide PINES circulation system which allows Elbert County users to request books from other libraries throughout Georgia. They have a good selection of books available for children and adults, or you can request a book from the PINES system and pick it up later.

E-Books: There is also a program for borrowing electronic books and audiobooks on your computer, tablet or e-book. There are no late fees because the book will automatically expire at the end of the lending period.

Computers: There are more than 20 computers available for use in the lab. You can access these services for free with your library card: Internet access, Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint), Wi-Fi service, and charging stations for laptops. There are also four computers in the Career/Small Business Center with resume software and job hunting links. Finally, the children's area has kid-friendly computers preloaded with educational software and no internet access.

Computer Coaching: The library offers free 1-hour private computer coaching with Library staff. You can learn basic computer skills such as proper computer use, mouse / keyboard tutorial, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, social networking, and document printing.

Genealogy: We have an extensive collection of family history materials, reference books, census data, military records, charts, maps, and historical documentation. You may ask for volunteer assistance during your family research by calling the library or email agrace@elbertcountypl.org or jburroughs@elbertcountypl.org

Book Sales: The book sale takes place twice a year in April/May and December. It benefits the Friends of the Library to support local programs and purchase materials. Items for sale include fiction, non-fiction, children's books, VHS, DVDs, audiotapes, magazines and paperbacks. Book donations are appreciated!

Crafts: Knitting, sewing, and art classes have been available based on interest and availability.

Storytime: Toddler Time is held every Tuesday morning at 10:30. This program combines stories, songs, crafts, games and activities for pre-school children and their parents or caregivers.  No need for reservations, just come prepared to sit on the floor with your child and have fun!

If you have any questions about the library services, please visit or call during business hours. We look forward to seeing you soon and helping the community.
